Fifa is ending its 60-year partnership with Panini after the 2030 World Cup, marking the end of an era for football sticker collectors worldwide. The publisher has produced World Cup sticker albums since the 1970 tournament in Mexico. Fans can still purchase Panini books for this summer's tournament, next year's Women's World Cup, and the 2030 event.

Fanatics, the sports merchandise giant, will take over from 2031 onwards. The company already replaced Panini as Uefa's collectibles partner in 2024 and owns the Topps trading card brand. FIFA president Gianni Infantino described the deal as a new way for fans to engage with their favourite teams, adding it provides another important commercial revenue stream that goes back into football.

The transition marks a significant shift in the collectibles market. Topps' modern approach to trading cards combined with Fanatics' digital distribution capabilities signals a new chapter for World Cup collectibles, ending Panini's remarkable six-decade reign as the definitive sticker provider for football's biggest tournament.
