FA Cup Cup-Tied Rule Change Lets Guehi Play for Manchester City

Marc Guehi's eligibility to play for Manchester City in the FA Cup has been confirmed, despite his previous participation for Crystal Palace. The England centre-back, who captained Palace in last season's final triumph, was initially barred due to cup-tie rules but now benefits from a Football Association amendment allowing a player to represent one other club in the competition proper. This change, implemented before the 2025-26 season, permits Guehi to face League Two side Salford City. The £65m transfer from Brighton to City earlier this year would have normally prevented his involvement, but the new regulations provide a second chance at glory for the defender.
