Barrow Sack Coach Maamria After 28 Days in Charge

Barrow have parted ways with head coach Dino Maamria after just 28 days in charge, making him the third manager to leave the League Two strugglers this season. The 54-year-old Tunisian coach took over on 11 February but secured only one win from six matches, leaving the Bluebirds precariously positioned outside the relegation zone on goal difference.

Barrow's board acknowledged the club's managerial instability in their statement, admitting this has been a "very disappointing season with far too much managerial change." The club emphasized that the decision to change managers was theirs alone, stating "the buck stops with us" and that the move gives them the best chance of League Two survival. Maamria's sole victory came in a 1-0 win over Colchester United, followed by four defeats from five games, including a 2-0 home loss to Bristol Rovers.

Sam Foley, a 39-year-old experienced midfielder, has been appointed interim head coach for the remainder of the season, with coaches Simon Ireland and David Worrall retaining their roles. Maamria's departure continues Barrow's turbulent season, following Paul Gallagher's 40-day spell that saw him lose all five games after replacing Andy Whing in January.
