Aston Villa have signed Norway international defender Mathilde Harviken from Juventus. The 24‑year‑old made almost 50 appearances for the Italian side after joining in January 2025 and featured in the Women’s Champions League. She helped Juventus win the Serie A title and Coppa Italia during the 2024‑25 season and the inaugural Serie A Women’s Cup in 2025.

Harviken began her career in Norway with FL Fart and Roa IL before moving to Rosenborg in 2022, where she made over 80 appearances. She earned her senior Norway debut in 2022 and was part of the Norway squads at the 2023 Women’s World Cup and Euro 2025.

Speaking about the transfer, Harviken said it is a “really good opportunity to join a club with such a big history,” praising the facilities and development environment at Villa. Aston Villa’s director of women’s football Marisa Ewers added that the club had tracked Harviken for over two years and believes she has the attributes to make an impact and continue developing.
