Aston Villa have secured the signing of Norway midfielder Justine Kielland from German club Wolfsburg, subject to visa approval. The 23-year-old defensive midfielder has become a regular in the Norwegian senior national side with 16 caps after progressing through the youth setup.

Kielland began her career at Stabaek before joining Norwegian side Brann in 2023. She helped Brann reach the Women's Champions League quarter-finals, scoring four goals in 12 appearances, which earned her a move to Wolfsburg in 2024. Her performances caught Aston Villa's attention as they strengthen their squad for the Women's Super League.

The new Villa recruit expressed excitement about joining the club, telling the club website: "It's an amazing feeling. I'm really excited now to finally be here." She highlighted the competitiveness of the WSL and mentioned that teammate Lynn Wilms had spoken positively about the club beforehand.

Kielland's arrival adds depth to Aston Villa's midfield options ahead of the new season. Having already played at the highest level in Europe, she will be looking to make an immediate impact in England's top-flight women's football league.
