Alonso happy with Enzo Fernandez at Chelsea

Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso has praised Enzo Fernandez's attitude since the midfielder's return to the club, despite ongoing transfer speculation.

The Blues agreed in late May that Fernandez could leave for £120m, with a deadline of 14 August set for bids. However, no formal offer materialised by that date, and Chelsea have since confirmed the 25-year-old is not for sale during the current window.

Manchester City, managed by Fernandez's former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, remain interested in signing the Argentina international. Despite this, Alonso insists Fernandez is focused and ready for Chelsea's Premier League opener against Fulham on Monday.

"Enzo is a Chelsea player. We are happy with him and he's getting ready for Monday," Alonso stated at his Thursday press conference. He added that the midfielder has "integrated really well" since rejoining the squad and is "training really well" with a "really good attitude."
