KKR has agreed a majority investment in Cisternina Logistics, a bulk liquid and gas storage business in India. The investment will fund Cisternina's planned purchase of Ganesh Benzoplast's terminal and rail business, which will serve as the platform's anchor asset. The GBL terminal business operates approximately 500,000 KL of storage capacity across ports including Jawaharlal Nehru Port, Cochin and Goa.

KKR's Asia Pacific infrastructure strategy will support expansion through acquisitions and new storage infrastructure development across India. India's coastal infrastructure handles approximately 95 percent of the country's external trade by volume, and KKR notes the market remains fragmented with relatively few scaled, professionally managed operators. "We see an opportunity to apply this platform-building approach to India's liquid and gas logistics sector," said Ravi Thanvi, director, real assets, at KKR India. Cisternina was established in 2024 and will serve customers across the energy, chemicals, bulk liquids and edible-oil sectors.
