Waymo's robotaxis are now available in Las Vegas. The fully autonomous rides initially serve a 24-mile service area around the Las Vegas Strip, later expanding to more of Clark County.

The fleet will mostly be Ojai all-electric minivans equipped with the sixth-generation Waymo Driver hardware for harsh weather. Last month, the Nevada Transportation Authority approved Waymo's permit for an Autonomous Vehicle Network Company. Tesla and Uber also received approvals, so more driverless cars will appear on the strip.

However, Zoox was the first robotaxi service in Vegas, launching in September last year. Before Las Vegas, Waymo launched in Denver, San Diego, and Tampa, Florida. The Alphabet subsidiary also expanded to Munich, Germany in August.
