Max Verstappen publicly called out Red Bull for ignoring his setup feedback during Canadian Grand Prix qualifying, revealing he deliberately went along with their direction to prove it wouldn't work. The four-time champion stated the team's approach lacked progress despite his repeated warnings.

Team principal Laurent Mekies defended the situation, calling such disagreements part of the team's culture and necessary for development. Verstappen confirmed internal discussions have taken place ahead of Monaco, with both sides analyzing what went wrong in Montreal.

Looking toward Monaco, Verstappen surprisingly agreed with McLaren's assessment that Ferrari enters as favorites due to their strength in slow corners. He admitted the RB22 remains uncompetitive in bump and kerb performance, areas critical for the street circuit.

Despite Ford expressing optimism about securing victories this season, Verstappen dismissed podium chances as unrealistic given the current performance gap. He also criticized the new-generation cars, arguing they remain too large for meaningful overtaking opportunities even in Monaco's tight confines.
