Red Bull‑Ford Leads ADUO; Audi and Ferrari Upgrade Ahead of FIA Confirmation

Red Bull‑Ford Powertrains now sit atop the ADUO ranking after Monaco data checks, sparking a push for a full FIA review. The team argues no single data point shows an edge over Mercedes, yet the results still grant Red Bull no upgrade token. The delay hinges on extra verification demanded by the carmaker promptly today.

Mercedes qualifies for one ADUO token, while Ferrari, Audi and Honda fall more than 4% behind the benchmark, earning two upgrades this season and another next year. The teams have already rolled out new power units at Barcelona and Austria, showing that the green light is in place even before a formal FIA announcement today.

Red Bull’s challenge focuses on the measurement method, which considers only the ICE, ignoring electrical gains or turbo size. Mercedes defends the FIA’s dataset, citing extensive compilation. Both sides note that changing the outcome now would be difficult, as development work has already begun across the paddock for the upcoming season races.

The ADUO system’s current design, agreed in spring 2025, keeps the process simple but has become a political arena. With Audi and Ferrari already deploying upgrades, the next FIA meeting after Silverstone will confirm the final token distribution. Until then, teams will continue to push performance within the existing framework for the upcoming season races.
