Red Bull has confirmed Tom Hart will succeed Gianpiero Lambiase as Max Verstappen's race engineer, promoting from within. Hart, currently serving as performance engineer covering both cars, was initially set to join Williams as Alex Albon's race engineer, but Red Bull blocked the transfer.

Lambiase will depart for McLaren in 2028 as chief racing officer, with gardening leave expected beforehand. Hart is slated to assume the race engineer role at the start of 2027, standing in for Lambiase during the second half of this season. He recently gained experience during Isack Hadjar's filming day at Silverstone.

Team boss Laurent Mekies hinted at the retention, noting most rumored departures had stayed. Meanwhile, chief engineer Paul Monaghan remains absent amid speculation of a move to Cadillac for an "even more senior" role, having missed both the Spa and Silverstone weekends.
