Charles Leclerc has implemented his first significant steering wheel software overhaul since joining Ferrari in 2019. This move deviates from his previous consistent setup, which he maintained even when drivers like Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen had different preferences. The updated software, in use since the British Grand Prix, features a reorganized data layout with parameters like speed and lap count moved to the left. Central display now prioritizes tyre and brake temperatures, previously accessed via secondary pages.

Two notable additions are a vertical sidebar on the right indicating MGU-K operation and a system of five red dots to track boost usage duration. Ferrari has also introduced a turbo indicator for race starts, utilizing a percentage scale and a three-color system (red, white, green) to signal when the turbo is at its optimal RPM range. This change aims to assist drivers in managing the complexities of modern hybrid power units, particularly crucial for consistent performance off the line.

The modifications reflect Ferrari's approach to driver customization within the evolving technical regulations. While most teams have made minor adjustments to their steering wheel layouts, Leclerc's substantial rework suggests a strategic effort to adapt to new driving dynamics and optimize performance across various race phases, from starts to energy management.
