Las Vegas used Monaco’s harbour to unveil its 10-year extension to 2037, staging a 10‑minute drone spectacle of 3,050 units that spanned 600 ft high and 800 ft wide. The aerial display traced Formula 1’s past and future, before highlighting Monaco’s own contract through 2035. Pulling a promotion onto a rival venue is rare, but Liberty Media’s ownership of the race gives Vegas that latitude and cemented Vegas.

Liberty Media poured $240 million into a 39‑acre site that now houses the Grand Prix Plaza, a year‑round 100,000‑sq‑ft attraction. Since its 2023 return, the event has generated $3.2 billion for Southern Nevada, including $43 million in state and local taxes, $15 million of which supports K‑12 education. The Las Vegas Grand Prix Foundation also donated over $2 million to local charities for local schools.

With the deal signed by Las Vegas Grand Prix Inc., Clark County and the LVCVA, the Strip will again close for a floodlit spectacle each November this year. The extension joins Miami’s 2041 and Austin’s 2034 contracts, underscoring Formula 1’s aggressive push into the U.S. market. The race now enjoys a secured decade‑long home on the calendar.
