Charles Leclerc's Monaco Grand Prix ended in a crash after revealing a severe brake failure. The Ferrari driver slid into barriers at Antony Noghes corner, telling his team he wasn't at fault. Three out of four brakes were not working, making it impossible to stop properly. Leclerc described the situation as "a nightmare" but confirmed Ferrari already had a solution identified.

The Monegasque explained the front left brake worked well, front right was half functioning, while both rear brakes showed no deceleration data at all. Leclerc will switch to Lewis Hamilton's brake configuration from the next race onward. Ferrari's senior management including team boss Fred Vasseur reviewed the data and agreed on the diagnosis.

Leclerc remains fourth in the drivers' championship with 70 points after his retirement. Hamilton's second-place promotion in Monaco moved him to second with 90 points. The brake issue appeared after a safety car intervention and progressively worsened to the point where avoiding a crash became impossible. Ferrari is still investigating the exact cause but suspects brake wear, a known challenge at Monaco's tight street circuit.
