OpenAI's Education for Countries program is scaling internationally, bringing AI tools to national education systems through research-driven partnerships. With 900 million weekly ChatGPT users and 4 million Codex users, the initiative focuses on agentic AI that empowers students to become creators and builders of what comes next.

The first cohort spans eight countries including Estonia, Jordan, and Kazakhstan. Estonia's nationwide deployment reaches 20,000 students and 4,600 teachers through the AI Leap Foundation, while Jordan's Siraj AI assistant serves over 1 million students. Singapore's Ministry of Education joins the program, leveraging ChatGPT for personalized mother tongue language learning and supporting teacher-driven AI adoption.

Early results show measurable impact: Slovakian educators report 5 hours saved weekly, and Kazakh educators completed 84,000 AI-readiness training sessions. OpenAI is launching Luminaries, an educator engagement track for co-designing classroom resources, while expanding research partnerships with institutions like Stanford to measure real-world learning outcomes.
