ValuePair is a free friendship app that matches users based on shared values rather than photos or profiles. Instead of swiping, registrants complete an onboarding with meaningful questions, then enter a matching pool. When a match is found, both users answer the same 14 questions in three stages — starting light and becoming more personal — with answers revealed only after both respond. If both agree to connect, chat opens and they can explore additional question sets.

The question format draws on published relationship research including Aron (1997), Hall (2019), Byrne (1971), Finkel (2012), and Hazan & Shaver (1987). The goal is to bypass small talk and surface fundamental compatibility early. Built with Next.js, PostgreSQL, and Docker on a Hetzner VPS, the project was developed by a senior developer using Claude and Codex.

Currently in open beta for 14 days with ~150 users, the founder reports overwhelmingly positive feedback. Marketing relies on Reddit posts describing the concept without direct links, plus an anonymous local posting app yielding 1–5 daily signups. Users can export or delete data anytime; no ads or payments.
