Trump Media Sells Fast-Access Data Feed to Trading Firms

Trump Media has launched Truth API, a fast-access data feed that gives Wall Street traders first sight of posts from influential Truth Social accounts. The service charges $60,000-$100,000 a month and has attracted high-frequency trading firms as early customers. Interim CEO Kevin Mc Gurn announced the pricing during an earnings call following a quarterly loss of $238 million between April and June, more than 10 times the loss from the same period a year earlier.

The company, which remains majority-owned by President Trump's family, hopes the new service will become a "meaningful" revenue stream. Truth Social is where Trump frequently makes announcements that can move markets, making early access valuable for trading stocks and other assets.

The move has raised legal and ethical questions about whether the company profits from the president's public statements. Despite the loss, Trump Media reported $1.7 million in revenue, up 89% from the previous year, though overall losses stem largely from cryptocurrency investments.

The group plans to refocus on its social media mission while exploring partnerships with technology firms and news organizations. Earlier this month, Trump Media scrapped plans for a prediction market project with Crypto.com.
