This marks the third such incident: in 2022, German and Austrian users lost content; in 2023, U.S. customers lost Discovery content after the Warner Bros. merger; now 551 titles are being removed effective September 1.

Kotaku noted the mundane tone of Sony's announcement, reflecting the lack of consequences for such practices. The company relies on lengthy EULAs that classify purchases as revocable licenses, not ownership, while marketing suggests otherwise.
