NICHOLAS AIR Pauses Starlink Install After Price Doubling

NICHOLAS AIR has paused Starlink installation across its fleet after SpaceX doubled prices. CEO NJ Correnti calls the increase "reckless" and lacking "reasonable ethical process." Starlink's unlimited aviation plan jumps from $10,000 to $20,000 monthly, equipment from $145,000 to $200,000, with regional boundaries added effective August 7th.

Correnti, who was installing Starlink across NICHOLAS AIR's fleet including Phenom 100, Phenom 300E, Citation CJ3+, Citation Latitude, Challenger 350 and Gulfstream G600, says the sudden change feels like "bait and switch." Aircraft broker Denise Wilson faced an awkward moment with a client closing on a Challenger 350 when monthly costs doubled overnight.

However, Alice Trope of Flite Watch argues such price hikes are expected with proprietary equipment systems. Based in Oxford, Mississippi, NICHOLAS AIR (founded 1997) is evaluating alternatives while remaining excited about inflight connectivity's future, but demands "predictable economics, transparent pricing, and long-term value."
