Apple has introduced the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display, featuring a tandem OLED display with Touch, Dynamic Island, a redesigned thermal system, an enhanced audio system, and slimmer display borders, all in a lighter design. Apple calls it the pinnacle of pro, with reference-caliber precision suited to filmmaking, design, and even medical imaging.

The PROLED XDR display combines tandem OLED technology with advanced display-engine algorithms to deliver Extreme Dynamic Range. It offers up to 1000 nits of sustained full-screen brightness and up to 2000 nits of peak HDR and SDR brightness, a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio, True Tone, P3 and Adobe RGB wide color, and an adaptive 10–120Hz Pro Motion refresh rate.

Touch is built directly into the display panel rather than layered on top, reducing latency. Users can scroll, pinch to zoom, draw and annotate onscreen, and manipulate 3D objects or play virtual instruments. Dynamic Island becomes the home for Spotlight and Live Activities, letting users search their Mac, track activities, control music, and use Siri AI, a conversational assistant currently available in English with possible usage limits.

Performance is driven by the M5 Pro and M5 Max, Apple's most powerful chips yet for a pro laptop. Each GPU core includes a Neural Accelerator, storage is up to twice as fast and configurable up to 16TB, and a redesigned thermal architecture supports sustained workloads. Apple says the M5 Pro is up to 10.9x faster than the M1 Pro and the M5 Max is up to 12x faster than the M1 Max.
