At Computex 2026, Intel's Kira Boyko outlined her role as product director for the newly launched Xeon 6+ processor line. Boyko detailed the Xeon 6+ roadmap simplification, noting the processor features 72 clusters of four cores. The standout feature discussed is Intel Application Energy Telemetry (AET), a hardware-level monitoring capability that tracks energy usage at the core level. Unlike previous software-based solutions, AET provides precise measurements as workloads move between cores, enabling better energy orchestration and customer chargeback applications. The feature integrates with existing performance counter tools and works out of the box across all SKUs.

Boyko confirmed AET employs actual hardware sensors rather than software modeling, offering granular monitoring from individual cores up to the entire SoC package. This capability allows customers to measure power differences between integer and floating-point workloads, potentially enabling energy optimization strategies and rebate programs for reduced consumption.
