MPs on the Business and Trade Select Committee have demanded answers from the government regarding Fujitsu's inclusion in £54bn government procurement frameworks despite the company's self-imposed ban on bidding for new public sector contracts. This follows Fujitsu's involvement in the Post Office scandal, where its software led to wrongful convictions. The committee seeks clarification on whether Fujitsu's framework appointments allow it to bypass its moratorium.

Fujitsu was added to four frameworks in July 2026, including G-Cloud 15 and Technology Services 4. Concerns arise from reports of Fujitsu circumventing its ban, with a public inquiry into the scandal ongoing. The committee chair, Liam Byrne MP, requested responses by August 12, highlighting the need for transparency on Fujitsu's compliance with its moratorium.
