Fedora 44 has launched for the Raspberry Pi 5, bringing the latest Linux distribution to the popular single-board computer. The release includes support for all Pi 5B variants, from 1GB to 16GB models, covering both revC and revD SoC versions. Key features include serial console access, microSD slot support, HDMI with accelerated graphics, wired ethernet, wireless networking, and USB ports.

Desktop environments are now available with both KDE and GNOME images, expanding beyond the previous minimal installation options. The images support accelerated graphics through proper CMA configuration, though users must manually add the cma=256M@0M-1024M kernel parameter for optimal performance. This requirement affects accelerated graphics and other advanced features.

While the release covers core functionality, several features remain in development, including support for the Raspberry Pi 500 series, CM5 modules, NVME storage, thermal management, and audio. The images are available for download directly from the project's website, offering users immediate access to Fedora 44 on their Raspberry Pi 5 hardware.
