Espressif introduces the ESP32-S31, a versatile dual-core RISC-V microcontroller running at 320 MHz with MMU support. This SoC combines both wireless and wired connectivity options, making it ideal for battery-powered and always-connected IoT applications. With 60 GPIOs and comprehensive multimedia support, the chip targets smart displays, video doorbells, and interactive devices needing seamless touch, visual, and audio integration.

The ESP32-S31 delivers comprehensive connectivity with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) for enhanced transmission efficiency and reduced power consumption. It supports IEEE 802.15.4 for Thread and Zigbee protocols, Bluetooth 5.4 with LE Audio, and legacy Bluetooth Classic. The chip includes 512 KB SRAM and multiple dedicated SPI interfaces compatible with high-speed Octal SPI mode for flexible memory expansion.

For security, the ESP32-S31 features hardware-based protection including TRNG and RAM-based PUF capabilities, secure boot, and cryptographic accelerators. Espressif will support the chip through open-source frameworks including ESP-IDF, ESP-Matter, ESP-BLE-AUDIO, and ESP-GMF, enabling voice-enabled and intelligent applications for modern IoT deployments.
