AsteroidOS 2.0 has launched with major enhancements including an Always-on Display, expanded watch compatibility, and performance improvements. The open-source smartwatch platform now supports 49 languages and runs on over 20 different watch models, including Fossil Gen 5, Huawei Watch 2, and Ticwatch Pro series.

Key additions include seven new app launcher styles, a customizable QuickPanel replacing the old QuickSettings menu, and redesigned apps like Weather and Timer. The Weather app now leverages Noto Sans font for better legibility, while the Timer app works in the background and is optimized for round displays. A new Flashlight app and animated bootsplash logo round out the stock app collection.

Performance optimizations deliver smoother UI animations and improved battery life, while system stability has been enhanced through numerous bug fixes. The community has contributed significantly, adding over 20 languages since the last release and creating numerous watchfaces now collected in an unofficial repository. The platform also gained initial support in third-party sync clients like Gadgetbridge and Amazfish, expanding its ecosystem beyond the official AsteroidOS Sync app.
