Anker has unveiled its custom Thus chip, the world's first neural-net compute-in-memory AI audio processor. This breakthrough design eliminates the need to move model parameters during inference, putting computation where the data already lives. Smaller and more power-efficient than traditional chips, it enables complex AI processing in compact devices previously unable to host such capabilities.

The Thus chip will debut in Soundcore's upcoming flagship earbuds, where it handles several million parameters compared to previous designs' few hundred thousand. This upgrade enables sophisticated noise cancellation and voice isolation during calls, even in loud environments. The implementation combines eight MEMS microphones with two bone conduction sensors to focus precisely on the user's voice.

Expected to launch at Anker Day on May 21, the Liberty 5 Pro Max and Liberty 5 Pro will be priced at $229.99 and $169.99 respectively. Anker's custom silicon represents a significant move to bring local AI to consumer devices, challenging competitors like Apple AirPods Pro 3 and Sony WF-1000XM6 in the premium audio accessory market.
