24TB 2b2t World Download Project Completes After Year-Long Effort

A team behind the 2b2t.place project has released what they claim is the largest Minecraft world download ever assembled — 24 TB of 2b2t server data spanning the Overworld, Nether, and End. The dump covers a 1,024,000² Overworld region alone, plus smaller areas across all three dimensions collected between late 2024 and April 2026.

Getting there required custom tooling: a proprietary zvcr file format to save on storage, a dedicated world download server, and bot accounts running on BMProxy. The final 1m² Overworld segment took 109 days with multiple accounts churning through chunks. Over the full year of work, the team spent more than $3000 on server costs and priority queue purchases.

The project essentially built a publicly accessible archive of one of Minecraft's oldest anarchy servers before changes or shutdowns erase its history. Renders, datamining spreadsheets, and a torrent are coming soon via the 2b2t.place Discord and GitHub.
