GL.iNet announced the launch of Fortify (GL-MT6000), a Wi-Fi 6 VPN router developed with ExpressVPN. Built on the Flint 2 platform, Fortify combines high-performance networking with ExpressVPN's privacy technology for simpler home VPN management.

Fortify includes 12 months of ExpressVPN's Advanced plan for new and returning users, offering an integrated setup experience. It marks a strategic expansion of the GL.iNet and ExpressVPN partnership, aiming to make network-level VPN connectivity easier to access and manage.

The router features dual-band AX6000 Wi-Fi 6, 4×4 MU-MIMO, a quad-core 2.0 GHz processor, 1 GB DDR4 memory, 8 GB eMMC storage, WireGuard VPN speeds up to 900 Mbps, and OpenVPN DCO speeds up to 880 Mbps. It supports multi-WAN failover, Smart Queue Management, and AdGuard Home.

Fortify integrates ExpressVPN via WireGuard, with setup and management built into GL.iNet's router interface. GL.iNet provides the hardware and firmware, while ExpressVPN supplies the VPN service. Alfie Zhao, Co-founder and COO at GL.iNet, commented on the collaboration.
