Services and Infrastructure
Sterling-backed Verdantas inked a deal for Austin civil engineering firm Civilitude, which provides water and wastewater infrastructure services. Riverside's SAFEbuilt added Pennsylvania inspection agency NEIC as its 19th add-on. Fundraising and Allocation
Private equity fundraising showed signs of recovery, with funds raising $702bn between Q1 and Q3 2026, roughly $101bn or 17% more than the prior year. However, regional and strategy gaps persist, as Europe has proven comparatively resilient while venture capital has lagged. Boka Capital is targeting $300m for its third defence fund by Q1 2027, arguing that increased defense spending has compressed the timeline from investment to scale. Hollyport raised $1.5bn for its GP-led secondaries programme. Ardian and SMBC are launching a mid-market NAV financing platform.
Venture and Growth
European startup funding reached $25 billion last quarter, well above the $14 billion recorded a year earlier, marking the region's strongest quarter in four years. Meanwhile, Endeavor Catalyst raised $320M to back founders outside San Francisco. Mecka AI secured $60M from Sequoia to train humanoid robots using human motion data, and Vesta raised $30M to deploy AI agents for mortgage lenders. Gudea raised $7M in seed funding to predict viral online narratives, and Weight loss startup Yazen raised €50m led by Verdane to expand across Europe.
Talent and Leadership
One Rock Capital hired NSI Industries' Damon Anderson as operating partner, bringing more than 25 years of procurement and sourcing experience. River Glade Capital formed a franchise platform, Sentinel Care Group, with former Right at Home CEO Brian Petranick.
