RiverGlade Capital has partnered with franchising executive Brian Petranick to form Sentinel Care Group, a new platform designed to build a family of franchise brands. Sentinel plans to pursue acquisitions of, or partnerships with, businesses positioned to scale, and it will also consider launching de novo franchise systems.
Petranick brings nearly 30 years of experience in franchising and healthcare leadership. He spent 22 years at Right at Home, joining its founder to launch the home care franchise system and serving as president and CEO for most of his tenure. Under his leadership, the senior care and home care business grew from a single location into a network of more than 750 territories across 48 US states and eight other countries. He later served as group president at Neighborly, where he led a seven-brand franchise portfolio and its company-owned operations. Most recently, he was CEO of Medi-Weightloss, a national health and wellness franchise system.
Danny Rosenberg, managing partner and co-founder of River Glade, said the firm has developed a deep investment thesis around identifying additional opportunities in the franchise industry. "This partnership reflects our continued conviction in the space," he said, citing the firm's successful experience in franchising.
River Glade focuses on control buyouts of growth-oriented, lower-middle-market healthcare companies.
