Samsung announced the Galaxy Smart Tag 3, a tracker that doubles as a pet activity monitor. It tracks location, motion, and sleep. Priced at $30 for one or $100 for four, it features an IP67 rating, is 35% smaller, and 33% lighter.

Battery life reaches 550 days in normal mode and 790 days in Power Saving mode. Bluetooth 6.0 Channel Sounding extends range to 60 meters (196 feet), three times farther than before, with ultra-wideband for precise finding. A new Place Notification geofence alerts when the tag enters or leaves a set area.

For the first time, it supports cross-platform compatibility via the Smart Things app, working with both iPhone and Android. For pet owners, it records movement, activity duration, and sleep, with a dedicated tab in the app. It will be available in black or white in early November.
