Anthropic Partners with Accenture for AI Safety Evaluations

Anthropic has partnered with Accenture to serve as third-party evaluators for the AI company's frontier AI models, marking the first step in CEO Dario Amodei's plan to slow AI development. The partnership involves both companies investing at least $1 billion each over five years, with Accenture evaluators embedded within Anthropic to monitor model training, follow governance decisions, and assess AI alignment. Amodei's three-step approach calls for ongoing, employee-like access for embedded evaluators at frontier AI companies to ensure safety practices, report incidents, and evaluate model alignment.

Accenture brings experience helping businesses and governments deploy AI across industries, offering enterprise perspective on Anthropic's models. However, the embedded evaluator model is new with no established standards for scope, access levels, or reporting procedures. Anthropic plans to announce additional evaluators in the coming weeks and notes Accenture will work with other AI companies besides Anthropic.
