Today alongside launching two new products, Sonos has unveiled ‘Sonos 27’ branding for its software platform and detailed four new features coming soon for Sonos users.

Here are four new ‘Sonos 27’ features launching this fall Sonos has launched Sonos Ace Ultra headphones today alongside a Sonos Beam Ultra soundbar. And in addition to the new hardware introductions, the company has rebranded its software.

‘Sonos 27’ is the official name of the Sonos software platform that already exists, but is getting a proper name starting today. More than just a rebrand though, Sonos announced four new software features coming this fall to Sonos users: Portable surrounds, Personal listening, Sonos 27voice, and Sonos MCP.

Portable surrounds turn two compatible portable speakers into wireless rear surrounds for movie night — then move them right back to wherever they usually live when the credits roll. Headphone linking allows you to seamlessly move audio between Sonos Ace Ultra and a compatible Sonos speaker. Sonos 27voice is a new way to ask for music, and Sonos MCP connects your system to frontier large language models (LLMs).
