Anthony Cacace will defend his WBA super-featherweight world title against Nick Ball at The O2 in Belfast on 19 December. The 37-year-old Belfast native won the title in March with a points victory over James 'Jazza' Dickens in Dublin and now faces another Liverpool fighter in former featherweight champion Ball.

Cacace last fought in Belfast in May 2023, defending the IBO belt against Damian Wrzesinski. Since then, he won and relinquished the IBF title before becoming a two-time champion with his win over Dickens, improving his record to 25-1. "Nick's a great fighter, ex-world champion, so I expect a good scrap," Cacace told DAZN. "Belfast around Christmas time is going to be jumping."

Ball, 23-1-1, lost his WBA featherweight title to Brandon Figueroa in February. He won the belt in 2024 against Raymond Ford after a draw with Rey Vargas. Ball fought in Belfast in 2023, stopping Ludumo Lamati. "It's a massive opportunity at a new weight," Ball said. "He's a solid champion, so it's going to be a good fight."
