Zep AI (YC W24) is hiring a Head of Forward Deployed Engineering to join its high-agency team building the Context Lake for AI agents. Zep provides memory across every user, domain, and agent, enabling agents to remember and reason across chat, documents, events, and business data. The Context Lake is governed and temporal, scaling to millions of context graphs per deployment. Backed by leading investors and angels from Vercel, Google, and Airtable, Zep serves enterprises like Samsung, Zscaler, Twin Health, HoneyBook, and NASDAQ 100 and Fortune 500 companies. It also builds Graphiti, an open-source context graph framework with 30K+ GitHub stars.

The company is a small, distributed team that pairs on hard problems and values learning. It asks a lot of questions and expects the same: ask early, push back, and care about API users.

The role owns engineering leaders' and developers' discovery of Zep: search and answer engines, blog and website, email, and social. Founders set content strategy; agents do production. The marketer runs publication and campaigns, measured on signups and pipeline. Reports to founder Daniel (2x founder, engineer, former head of ML at SparkPost). Team pedigree includes Scale AI, Dropbox, ActiveCampaign, DroneDeploy, and McKinsey.

Responsibilities: own search/answer engine discoverability (structured data, llms.txt, architecture, measurement); run blog/website pipeline; run email lifecycle and outbound; run social; build and operate content/campaign/competitor agents; own funnel measurement; choose stack and manage automation cost.
