Trend Force reports that DRAM industry revenue rose 59.5% QoQ in 2Q26 to nearly US$154.73 billion, driven by sharp contract price increases and strong demand for AI servers, HBM3e, LPDDR5X, and high-capacity RDIMMs. Despite growing demand from agentic AI applications, supply expansion lags, keeping inventories at historic lows and limiting bit shipment growth. Samsung led with 63.4% QoQ revenue growth to $60.98 billion and a 39.4% market share, supported by early HBM4 mass production. SK hynix revenue rose 37.9% QoQ to $38.59 billion (24.9% share), while Micron's revenue increased 65.5% QoQ to $36.0 billion (23.3% share) as it prioritized higher-priced server DRAM.

Smaller suppliers like Nanya, Winbond, and PSMC saw significant gains from mature-process demand, with PSMC's DRAM revenue surging 167.8% QoQ to $115 million. Looking ahead, bit shipment growth will remain modest, and conventional DRAM contract price increases are expected to moderate to 13-18% QoQ as demand shifts toward lower-capacity products and consumer markets resist further hikes.
