IG Design Group thinks worst is over after restructuring, though shares remain 34 per cent down from three years ago despite a 65 per cent rise over the past year. Last year was difficult due to US tariffs and weak consumer spending, leading to the sale of its lossmaking DG Americas unit for $1. Since then, the company has focused on repairing its balance sheet, with cash generation improving significantly.
Although sales fell 3 per cent and adjusted operating profits dropped by two-fifths to £9.6mn, cash from continuing operations delivered a £16mn inflow, up from a £4.6mn outflow the prior year. Under new CEO Gerald Kühr, a former Unilever executive, the company has set modest targets of 0 to 5 per cent sales growth and adjusted operating margins between 4 and 5 per cent. Kühr appointed ex-Nestlé director Ari Bensoussan as chief financial officer last month, who quickly demonstrated commitment by spending £426,718 on 465,799 shares at 91.6p each.
This investment aligns incentives as IG Design pursues recovery.
