Former England bowler Kate Cross has announced her retirement from cricket at the end of the summer. The 34-year-old, who earned 102 caps for England between 2013 and 2025, will conclude her career after a remarkable journey that began at Lancashire, where she joined the county's academy as the first woman.

Cross described the decision as difficult, stating, "It is incredibly hard to imagine ever saying goodbye to playing the sport that has been such a huge part of my life." She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play professionally at the highest level.

Dame Sarah Storey, chair of Lancashire, praised Cross as a "true Lancashire legend" who made an incredible contribution to both Lancashire and England Women. Cross recently played in The Hundred final for Sunrisers Leeds and will finish her career playing for Lancashire, including a match against The Blaze in Nottingham.

Throughout her international career, Cross took 25 Test wickets, 101 ODI wickets, and 14 T20 wickets. She featured in England's 2013-14 Ashes victory and was part of the Test and 50-over setup until being left out by new coach Charlotte Edwards last summer. Her final international appearance came against India in an ODI last July.
