Mc Daniels took full responsibility for the Super Bowl LX loss, stating he did not do a good enough job as Seattle 'out-everythinged' the Patriots. He emphasized that while lessons were learned, the upcoming game will be different due to new players and roster changes.

The Patriots will feature rookie quarterback Drake Maye, who was sacked six times in the February defeat. The offensive line has been reshaped, with former Jets first-round pick Alijah Vera-Tucker starting at left guard alongside Will Campbell and Jared Wilson. Campbell, recovering from a sprained MCL, has shown a positive mindset during camp.

Maye and the starters did not play in preseason games, but Mc Daniels expressed confidence in the game plan. The Patriots opened as short-handed at running back, with Tre Veyon Henderson sidelined after an ankle injury. Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold and most starters also sat out the preseason.

Mc Daniels noted that opening day requires adaptation, as opponents reveal strategies in the first quarter. The team will practice Monday before traveling to Seattle later in the day.
