The FBI has identified 35 additional women who say they were defrauded by Daejon Love and Taylor Chan, bringing the total number of alleged victims to more than 60. Portland FBI Special Agent in Charge Doug Olson said the agency is working to verify the new victims and expressed surprise at the scale of the fraud. Olson noted that Love, 35, used social media and dating apps to impersonate a San Francisco 49ers player and a wealthy Swiss real estate investor, while Chan, 18, posed as his financial adviser.

The scheme involved fake identities, fabricated investment accounts, staged video calls, and AI-reinforced false personas. Love and Chan were arrested on Aug. 24, 2026, at the Boise, Idaho airport and charged with wire fraud and conspiracy. The criminal complaint alleges they stole over $1.3 million from 26 known victims across at least four states, with the FBI believing more victims remain unidentified.

Olson encouraged anyone with information to contact the Portland FBI without fear of embarrassment. A 49ers team source confirmed the club was unaware of Love prior to FBI contact and fully cooperated with the investigation.
