San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy delivered an 'MVP' performance against the Miami Dolphins, leading his team to a 35-13 victory and improving the Niners to 2-0 on the season. Following Sunday's win, linebacker Fred Warner publicly declared Purdy the Most Valuable Player. Just two weeks into the season, Purdy silenced questions about a potential letdown after the team's weeklong stay in Melbourne, Australia, to open the year.

With Purdy at the controls, the Niners scored a touchdown on each of their first five possessions, the first time they've accomplished that in 45 seasons. Combined with their 27-7 win against the Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco has started the season with back-to-back wins of 20-plus points for the first time in franchise history. Purdy completed 20 of 22 passes for 287 yards with two touchdowns and a 99.7 QBR, adding 30 rushing yards and another score.

He became only the second player in NFL history with 250-plus passing yards and a 90% completion rate in multiple games, joining Derek Carr. Purdy also became the first quarterback ever to achieve those marks with 30 or more rushing yards. Entering the game, Purdy led the league in QBR (95.9) and completion percentage (80.4%).

Running back Christian McCaffrey praised his quarterback as 'incredible' and 'special,' noting he is already in a category of his own. Despite the dominant performance, Purdy downplayed the streak, stating he was focused on helping the team build a bigger lead rather than tracking personal milestones.
