Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was carted off the field in Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys after suffering an injured left elbow on the final play of the first half. The injury occurred when Daniels took a snap on third-and-goal from the 1-yard line and his feet were stepped on by left guard Chris Paul, causing him to fall and brace with his left elbow, which bent backward. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game after being evaluated by medical personnel and surrounded by teammates and coaches, including Dan Quinn.

Daniels had previously dislocated his left elbow in Week 9 of last season against Seattle and reinjured it in Week 14 at Minnesota, missing the rest of that season. On Sunday, he had led the Commanders back from a 17-3 deficit with a touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs and a drive to end the first half, completing 11 of 17 passes for 96 yards and rushing seven times for 69 yards before the injury. Washington chose to go for it on third-and-goal instead of kicking a field goal with three seconds left in the half.
