AP College Football Week 3 Poll: Rankings And What's Next

Last week's ranked matchups produced fireworks in AP college football. Ole Miss won a close one against Lane Kiffin and LSU in primetime while Texas Tech and Louisville notched wins over Houston and SMU, respectively. Florida and Mississippi State are newcomers to this week's poll after getting big wins against SEC opponents.

Oklahoma, after scoring its fewest points in a win in decades against New Mexico, dropped from the rankings. Texas Longhorns remain atop the standings with a 3-0 record following a victory over UTSA. Georgia Bulldogs extended their impressive streak to 3-0 for the 12th straight season with a win over Arkansas.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish continue their dominance with a 27-10 victory against Michigan State. Ole Miss Rebels notched a significant win over LSU, marking the first season the program has defeated two AP top 10 teams in its first three games. Indiana Hoosiers posted consecutive shutouts for the first time since 1993.

Miami Hurricanes standout Darian Mensah set an ACC record with 35 consecutive completions. Ohio State Buckeyers saw Jeremiah Smith move into the lead in career receiving yards. Alabama Crimson Tide recorded 50 points, their most against a power-conference opponent since 2022.

LSU Tigers suffered a loss to Ole Miss, extending their losing streak against top 10 opponents. Texas Tech Red Raiders secured a second 3-0 start under Joey Mc Guire. USC Trojans prepared to face Oregon after a win over Rutgers.

Tennessee Volunteers look to maintain momentum against Texas.
