NBA Playoff Hopes Dimmed by Injuries
The immediate outlook for several key franchises soured Tuesday as multiple players sustained injuries requiring extended time off the court. In Milwaukee, star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo faces at least a week on the sidelines after tests confirmed a bone bruise and a hyperextended left knee, requiring a reevaluation in seven days as the Eastern Conference race tightens. Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons watched their offensive engine falter when Cade Cunningham departed their contest against Washington due to sharp back spasms, clouding the MVP candidate's status for upcoming games. Adding to the league's injury woes, the Memphis Grizzlies announced that both Scotty Pippen Jr. and Santi Aldama will undergo season-ending surgeries, officially concluding their campaigns.
