According to industry sources cited by ET News, Samsung is preparing to equip the upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra with its next-generation M16 OLED panel. The panel will deliver higher brightness performance, improved energy efficiency, longer lifespan, and more accurate color reproduction. Interestingly, the M16 OLED will not debut with the Galaxy S27 series.

Samsung and i QOO have both confirmed during an event in China that the M16 OLED will be used by the upcoming i QOO 16. Reports also claim that the new i Phone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, and i Phone Duo will rely on the M16 panel. The vanilla Galaxy S27 and S27+ are expected to use the M14 OLED, a step up from the M13 panels in the Galaxy S26 and S26+.

The report also hints at a similar upgrade for the Galaxy Z Fold9 series, which will move beyond M13 OLEDs.
