Sony has confirmed that Until Dawn 2 will launch exclusively on PS5 on January 28. The interactive slasher sequel is being developed by Firesprite, a Liverpool-based studio known for its VR games, marking a shift from the original's developer Supermassive Games. Set on a tropical island, the game maintains the B-horror atmosphere of its predecessor while introducing new settings and characters.

Like the original, it features a Butterfly Effect system where player choices determine character survival. The cast includes Dacre Montgomery, known for his role as Billy Hargrove in Stranger Things, who appears prominently in the newly released pre-order trailer. While the original starred recognizable names like Rami Malek and the late Hayden Panettiere, Until Dawn 2 leans more on emerging talent, though Montgomery's presence will be familiar to fans of the Netflix series.
