OpenAI has officially detailed GPT-6 Astra, calling it "the world's most intelligent and aligned model." The new model saturates Frontier Math Tier 4 with a 98% score, ARC-AGI-3 with 99.9%, and Exploit Bench with 100%. It excels at computer use, browsing, software engineering, cybersecurity, science, and professional work like creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. OpenAI states GPT-6 Astra is "the best model for software engineering to date" and introduces a new Codex feature preserving context across windows without compaction, keeping earlier context searchable. This experimental feature will become default for Astra soon.

OpenAI calls Astra a "significant jump in cyber capabilities" meeting the Critical threshold in its Preparedness Framework, prompting a slow rollout. GPT-6 Astra launches today to limited organizations, expanding to all ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users, plus OpenAI API and AWS access. Usage is included in existing subscriptions with credit options for more. Pro, Business, and Enterprise users get GPT-6 Astra Pro; Enterprise admins must enable access (off by default).

GPT-5 launched August 7, 2025, replacing GPT-4o with automatic routing for quick or deep reasoning. Apple adopted it with iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe 26, routing ChatGPT requests through Apple Intelligence including Siri handoffs.
