Viral iPhone 18 Pro Max Store Video Debunked as Fake

A viral video from leaker yeux1122 claiming to show the iPhone 18 Pro Max in a retail store has been debunked. The 14-second clip displays Dark Cherry and light blue models alongside an iPhone 17 Pro Max, but AppleInsider analysis reveals multiple red flags. Demo units are not yet in stores ahead of the September 9, 2026 launch event.

The video only shows devices with screens off and mounted backward — typical of fakes avoiding UI exposure. A retail price sticker visible in the footage lists 256GB models at a monthly rate in Russian rubles (~$123/month), but Apple does not sell iPhones directly in Russia; only third-party resellers operate there. The leaker has a mixed track record.

This follows carrier leaks posting optimistic lineup details. More fakes are expected before the official announcement.
