Five iPhone 18 Pro Camera Features Leaked in iOS 27 Code

Apple is working on a broader set of Camera app improvements in iOS 27 it has announced, according to a new deep dive from MacRumors forum member "pdfu." iOS 27 beta code points to five features that could arrive alongside new iPhone models this week or in a future software update. Exposure scopes allow the Camera app to display a waveform or histogram to judge exposure while shooting. Focus peaking and highlight warnings add overlays to the camera preview, highlighting in-focus edges and warning of overexposure.

Repeated self-timer shots enable taking multiple timed photos in rapid succession. Manual focus control for setting and locking focus has reappeared in testing, similar to Final Cut Camera, though restricted to devices shipping with iOS 27 or later. Aperture-based image correction suggests support for a future iPhone with variable aperture, adjusting lens corrections based on aperture settings.

Although these features could reach other models, their presence with iPhone 18 Pro expectations hints at a launch tie-in. None are accessible in current betas, and Apple may delay or withhold them. The findings follow pdfu's prior discoveries on unreleased game controllers, four-speaker HomePod systems, and new Apple Watch features.
