Apple has released iOS 27 to the public, bringing the long-awaited Siri overhaul and other AI-based changes to iPhone. Introduced in June at WWDC 2026, the update underwent developer and public betas. With the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max on the horizon, it's now available to all iPhone users.

iOS 27 finally implements the Siri overhaul announced at WWDC 2024 and delayed in early 2025. Using the Apple Foundation Model trained by Google Gemini, Siri AI is supercharged, alongside all of Apple Intelligence. A System Orchestrator combines elements into a cohesive whole. Siri AI features contextual awareness, a new Liquid Glass appearance consuming the Dynamic Island, text entry, and a new app for reviewing conversations.

Siri can now use your data, contacts, and messaging history. For example, asking about your last vacation could bring up trip photos, messages, and tourist spots. Only iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro and later can use Apple's new on-device model.

Changes also apply to Visual Intelligence, now easier to access in the Camera app via a new Siri mode, letting you use what's visible in an image as part of a Siri query.
